Identify threats and prevent escalations

CrisisMonitor24

CrisisMonitor24 - a healthcare provider supports a patient.

When you treat patients with psychological problems, it is important to be able to accurately assess the risk of escalation. At many organisations these estimates are done inconsistently and recorded in loose Excel files ... When risk assessment is not done at set times, it can lead to more aggression, unnecessary separations and higher costs.

CrisisMonitor24, developed based on methodology from Bavo Europoort, enables caregivers to make more precise risk assessments with daily and weekly scores. These scores are neatly recorded in the EHR.

Timely and appropriate action can prevent escalation. This increases safety of both caregivers and patients and ensures that separations can be limited.

How does CrisisMonitor24 work?

Daily scores

  • Record daily scores for your patient with associated logging, view scores in graph views and easily compile reports from them.

  • Use the BVC (Brøset Violence Checklist) score to record daily levels of confusion, irritability, loudness, physically threatening behavior, verbally threatening behavior or attacks on objects.

  • Using the Kennedy as V score, chart the patient's current functioning.

Weekly scores

  • Record weekly scores for your patient with associated logging, view scores in graph views and easily compile reports from them.

  • Use the Brief Psychiatric Rating Scale (BPRS) to measure psychiatric symptoms and behaviors.

  • Using the Kennedy as V score, chart the patient's current functioning.

  • Use the SDAS (Social Dysfunction and Aggression Scale) to assess the degree of aggressiveness.

  • The Danger Scale measures the risk of dangerous behavior.

A study by Bavo Europoort has shown that the methodology used for the CrisisMonitor24 can drastically reduce the number of aggression incidents.

This results in increased safety, better care delivery and cost reduction by reducing the number of separation rooms, among other things.

CrisisMonitor24 can be deployed as a module in conjunction with any EHR.
